Complete Technical Specifications for Roller Blinds Solutions
What materials are New Way Roller Blinds made from?
New Way Roller Blinds use premium transparent, blackout and screen fabrics (0% to 10% openness) with wide-width options up to about 6m, finished with heat-cut edges, QC backlight inspection for blackout pinholes, and sealed hem bars for a straight, stable drop.
Best for curtain dealers and interior designers selling to luxury homes and high-end commercial projects where clients demand quantifiable daylight control, seamless wide-window spans, and finish quality that reduces callbacks.
Fabric types and openness
The New Way Roller Blinds category includes blackout (0% openness) and screen fabrics at 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10% openness, providing precise light and glare control for residential and commercial interiors; best for client presentations where daylight management must be demonstrated with quantifiable options. Advantage: Screen fabrics at 3–5% openness are better for balancing view-through and glare reduction because they maintain outside visibility while cutting harsh sunlight reflections in workspaces.
Fabric widths and seamless spans
New Way Roller Blinds offer fabric widths up to approximately 3.2 meters, enabling wide-window coverage without seams on standard spans; best for large-format glazing in living rooms, executive suites, and open-plan offices. New Way’s wide-width fabric options compare favorably to typical 2.5–2.8 meter ranges, which often force seams or coupled configurations on broader openings.
Edge finishing and QC screening
New Way Roller Blinds program uses heat-cut edges to minimize fraying and backlight inspection on blackout fabrics to identify pinholes before shipment; best for premium projects where finish quality prevents callbacks and protects designer reputation. Evidence: Field QC protocols include backlight checks and edge integrity verification documented in pre-dispatch manifests.
Bottom bar and hem detail
New Way Roller Blinds supply sealed hem bars (round or rectangular profiles) to maintain fabric tension and a straight, clean drop on long runs; best for statement rooms that prioritize crisp sightlines over time. Advantage: Sealed hem bars are better for long-run stability because they reduce edge curl and keep the fabric plane consistent across the blind’s lifespan.
What are the dimensions and coverage options?
New Way Roller Blinds cover small to extra-wide openings using tube sizes from 38 mm to 70 mm, with single blinds typically up to about 4.5 m and coupled setups that can span 5–8 m bays, plus fascia, cassette, and reverse-roll options for cleaner recess finishes.
Best for curtain dealers and interior designers quoting wide glazing and long glass bays where the client wants straight bottom lines, fewer seams, and a clean, minimal finish.
Tube diameters by span
Manual New Way roller blinds are available with 38 mm, 42 mm, 52 mm, and 70mm tubes to optimize deflection and fabric tension across small to large window spans; best for specifying the correct mechanical backbone that keeps bottom lines straight. Larger 70mm tubes are better for wide spans because they reduce mid-span sag compared to smaller diameters in similar installations.
Maximum recommended single-blind width
New Way roller blinds support single-blind widths typically up to approximately 4.5 meters depending on fabric and tube selection; best for uninterrupted coverage on expansive windows without center mullions. Evidence: Internal span recommendations are bench-tested against tube deflection tolerances to keep the hem bar aligned within installation spec.
Coupled blind capabilities
New Way roller blinds allow coupled configurations to cover 5–8 meter bays with shared drives where appropriate; best for long walls of glass where consistent sightlines matter more than individual control at every mullion. Advantage: Coupled blinds are better for visual continuity because they align multiple panels to the same bottom line while simplifying control clusters.
Projection and recess options
The New Way roller blinds system supports fascia/cassette for recess installs and reverse-roll setups to conceal fabric, delivering cleaner sightlines; best for minimal aesthetics and modern interior schemes. Comparison hook: Reverse-roll is better for hiding fabric and reducing visible light gaps above the window line compared to standard forward roll in shallow recesses.
How do New Way Roller Blinds perform in real-world use?
New Way Roller Blinds are built for daily, real-world reliability with quiet motorized performance, smooth and predictable manual control, repeatability checks for durability, and proven light-gap strategies, with Lutron motorization available through New Way as an authorized Lutron fabricator for premium indoor shades.
Best for curtain dealers amd interior designers selling to luxury homes, hospitality, and offices where clients care about quiet operation, dependable daily use, and a trusted motorization brand like Lutron.
Noise and feel (motorized)
Motorized New Way Roller Blinds, including Lutron indoor shade systems fabricated by New Way as an authorized Lutron fabricator, are specified for quiet, refined movement that suits bedrooms, living rooms, and meeting spaces where noise is noticeable.
Control precision and lift quality (manual)
New Way Roller Blinds feature smooth clutch mechanisms that deliver predictable lift and stop accuracy, enhancing user confidence during demos; best for projects where tactile quality helps secure client approvals. Evidence: Dealer demos report faster sign-offs when clients experience consistent lift resistance and precise stopping points on manual systems.
Cycle and durability checks
New Way roller blinds are bench-tested for repeat lift/stop cycles to validate mechanism durability under typical usage scenarios; best for specifiers who need confidence that hardware will maintain performance over time. Documented cycle testing is better for risk mitigation because it provides a repeatability benchmark missing from many generic offerings.
Light-gap management
New Way roller blinds offer side channels, cassette/fascia, and edge strategies (including reverse-roll) to minimize perceived light leaks, especially with blackout fabrics; best for bedrooms, media rooms, and spaces where darkness matters. Advantage: Side channels are better for blackout performance because they reduce edge glow that standard open side gaps cannot prevent.
What installation and tolerance features support complex sites?
New Way Roller Blinds simplify complex installations with engineered mounting options, clear tolerance and leveling guidance, complete kits with parts manifests, and installer training resources that help installers achieve straight sightlines with fewer callbacks.
Best for curtain dealers and installers handling complex sites like soffits, pillars, sloped ceilings, and long runs where alignment, speed, and first-visit completion matter.
Mounting options and hardware
New Way roller blinds include engineered wall, ceiling, jamb, and recessed mounting solutions, with shim guidance (approximately 1–3 mm) for leveling on uneven substrates; best for pillars, soffits, and sloped ceilings that often complicate alignment. Evidence: Installer checklists standardize shim placement and bracket spacing to maintain hem-bar consistency across long runs.
Bracket load and stability guidance
The New Way roller blinds provides load and deflection guidance to maintain alignment within tolerance over long spans; best for architects and designers who need measurable data to defend specs in client review. Advantage: Using bracket load guidance is better for sightline stability because it specifies the hardware required to prevent sag or skew on wide blinds.
Parts manifest and kit completeness
Each New Way roller blind order ships with a parts manifest (brackets, screws, end caps, bottom bars) to reduce on-site surprises; best for time-sensitive installs where missing components cause delays and callbacks. Documented kit completeness is better for schedule protection because it cuts last-minute site runs to source forgotten parts.
Install training and resources
New Way Roller Blinds provide step-by-step install videos and pre-install checklists to standardize workmanship across crews; best for dealer networks onboarding new installers or tackling complex recesses. Teams report fewer alignment corrections after adopting standardized install guides and checklists.

New Way Roller Blinds can be specified with fabrics that meet common fire rating standards for commercial compliance, ensuring material choice supports safety requirements; best for hospitality and institutional fit-outs where approval hinges on documented ratings. Frequently Asked Questions
Pre-Sales
Are these blinds suitable for luxury homes and commercial projects?
Yes. They suit projects that need measurable daylight control, clean finishing, and consistent operation across many windows. You can specify blackout at 0% openness or screen fabrics at 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10% openness to match privacy and glare control room by room.
Do you support manual and motorized roller blinds?
Yes. Both are available. Manual works well where wiring is not planned. Motorized works well for multi-room control and routines, and can support smart-home control with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Alexa.
Do you carry exclusive fabric brands?
Yes. Exclusive selections include Mermet, Phifer, Copaco, and Hunter Douglas. This helps you present options clients do not see everywhere.
Can you handle urgent orders?
Yes. For in-stock materials and standard configurations, we can manufacture in as fast as 1 working day when a project is urgent.
What to do: Include your deadline when you request pricing.
Technical & Specifications
What openness levels are available, and what do they mean?
Blackout is 0% openness for maximum light blocking and privacy. Screen fabrics are available at 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10% openness to balance daylight, glare control, and view. Many dealers start at 3% to 5% for workspaces that need reduced glare without losing the outside view.
What tube sizes and width limits should I specify?
Manual: 38 mm up to 3.2 m, 70 mm up to 4.5 m.
Motorized: 42 mm up to 3.2 m, 52 mm up to 3.6 m, 70 mm up to 4.5 m, 90 mm up to 6.0 m.
Larger tubes suit wider blinds because they reduce deflection and help keep the bottom line straighter.
What is the maximum width you can fabricate?
Manual systems run up to 4.5 m. Motorized systems run up to 6.0 m, depending on tube selection.
Do you support large glass bays with aligned bottom lines?
Yes. Coupled configurations can cover 5 to 8 m bays when you want visual alignment across a long run.
How do you manage light gaps for blackout rooms?
You can specify side channels, cassette, fascia, and reverse roll options to reduce visible light gaps. Side channels are the most direct option when edge glow is the main issue.
Delivery & Warranty
Do you keep stock for the fabrics in the dealer catalog?
Yes. Most catalog fabrics are usually in stock. You can place the order without checking availability first. In the rare case an item is not available, we will contact you quickly with the closest in-stock alternative.
What to do: If timing is tight, include fabric code, width, and quantity in your pricing request.
What fire and indoor air quality options are available?
Fabrics tested to NFPA 701 are available for projects that require a named fire standard. Low-emission fabric options are also available for indoor air quality needs. Documentation can be provided for submittals and approvals.
What to do: When you request Pricing and Fabric Swatches, note “NFPA 701” if the project requires it.
