Lutron Wood Blinds

The wand on the cord used to wait for someone. The sun came in piece by piece. The room took ten minutes to wake up. Now the wood blinds rise at the hour you wake. The light arrives with you. The room is already itself when you walk in.

You used to walk along the wall of windows and adjust each wood blind so the sunset did not flatten the dining table. Each one took its own moment. Now the dinner setting runs the lights, the music, and the wood blinds together. The wall lands as one. The first guest arrives to a room you did not have to manage.

Somebody used to close the wood blinds by hand on the way to bed. Each one took another minute. The cord clicked against the frame. Now the wood blinds settle at the hour you keep. The room dims around you while you read. You do not hear them close.

Sivoia QS chassis dimensions are 57 mm deep by 88 mm high. With a minimum 102 mm recess depth and 35 mm front clearance, the headrail disappears into the soffit or pocket detail reserved at first concept. The wood blind reads as part of the joinery, not a fitting added to it.

Eighteen standard basswood finishes plus a Custom Color Matching service. Twelve stains span Light Oak through Black Cherry. Six paints span Arctic White through Black Onyx. The headrail and valance finish in the matching tone, so the wood blind reads as one continuous treatment with the slat library.

The valance options (Sutton, Royal, Harvard) cover the headrail in three architectural profiles. The aluminium-headrail-only option leaves the line minimalist for modern interiors. In every option, the motor, the cabling, and the drive electronics stay inside the chassis. The reader of the room sees craft, not equipment.

Sivoia QS drive electronics maintain slat-tilt alignment within 1.6 mm across adjacent blinds. A guestroom corridor reads as one architectural treatment, not fifteen blinds in fifteen slightly different positions. The discipline the hospitality industry calls Intelligent Hembar Alignment, applied to the wood-blind line.

Bottom rails land within 3 mm of each other across a multi-blind install. Whether a wall of picture windows or a tall stairwell of stacked openings, the line at the bottom of each blind sits where the eye expects it. The room reads as one treatment.

Programmed limits and presets are retained for the product’s lifetime, through power loss. The Welcome scene that drops the blinds to the same angle every morning continues to drop them to the same angle the next morning. The room remembers itself.

Lutron specifies the drive at no more than 44 dBA at three feet (1 m) from the chassis, per chassis spec 085262g. Quieter than a refrigerator hum. Quieter than the air conditioning. In a bedroom at 3 a.m., the blind rises and the room stays still.

The Sivoia QS drive accelerates gradually and decelerates the same way. There is no mechanical click at the start of motion and no thud at the bottom of the travel. The blind moves the way a hand would move it, if a hand had the patience.

Programmed limits and presets survive a power outage and stay accurate for the product’s lifetime. The blinds return to the same angles after the power cuts back in. No re-programming. No factory reset. No mid-evening interruption to a scene that just ran.

Voice control arrives through Lutron bridges into Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. The phrase that already lowers the lights in the master bedroom also lowers the wood blinds. The voice integration is Lutron’s, not a third-party plugin.

We sit with the architect, the interior designer, and the AV integrator before the joinery is finalised. We walk through chassis sizing, recess depth, valance profile, basswood library, and keypad locations. The wood blind is detailed into the room, not retrofitted onto it.

Per CSI 12 22 16 workflow, we mock up the slat-tilt range, the basswood finish, and the integration scene before any blind is fabricated. The homeowner, the spouse, and the ID approve the look in the showroom. Mass production starts after sign-off.
