Lutron Drapery Curtain Tracks
If you have already wired your home for Lutron, you know what one synchronised scene feels like. The lights soften. The shades drop. The room agrees with the moment. The drapery, until now, was the part that did not keep up.
That is the gap Lutron Sivoia Drapery closes. Fabricated by New Way as an authorised Lutron fabricator in Asia, the line moves heavy panels at 50 dBA, recesses flush into the ceiling, and joins the same Lutron scene as the lights and the keypads.
Below, you will see how each family solves a different brief. Sivoia QS for specification-grade flagship work. Wireless Lite for retrofits where opening walls is not an option. Alena for hospitality and multi-dwelling projects. And the new Palladiom for European showpiece installations announced at ISE 2026.

Trusted, Loved And Installed By
The Night the Drapery Starts Running Itself.
The same room. The same person. The only difference is whether the system was installed before the night began.

The Night the Drapery Starts Running Itself.
The same room. The same person. The only difference is whether the system was installed before the night began.
The Bedroom Without the System
You walk around the bedroom. You pull each drape shut by hand. One panel sticks at the top corner. You give it up at nearly closed. A line of streetlight falls on the wall behind the bed. At 6:00 AM the sun finds that same line. You wake before your alarm.
The Bedroom With the System
You say “Goodnight” once. The drapes close on their own. The bedroom goes fully dark. The hallway lights dim a moment later. At 6:00 AM the room is still dark. You wake on your alarm at 6:45 AM.
How It Gets There
Lutron Sivoia Drapery, fabricated by New Way, sits on the same Lutron scene as your lights and keypads. A Lutron scene is one command, by voice or by button, that moves everything in the room together. You set the scene once with our team. It runs every night after.
Effortless Mornings. Zero Strain.
Pulling heavy, floor-to-ceiling drapes is a daily hassle. It drains your energy and your time. Motorized control moves carriers at 6 in per second and turns effort into a tap or a simple schedule.

Move Heavy Drapes with a Tap, Not Your Shoulders
Pulling wide, lined drapes is physically demanding for many homeowners.
The strain compounds for older adults and anyone with mobility limits, so rooms stay dark and underused.
Motorized operation replaces pulling with buttons, remotes, apps, or scenes.
The 175 lb capacity moves substantial fabrics at 6 in per second.
Your routines feel calm and effortless.
No Gaps, No Fiddling. Just Clean Lines.
Manual operation creates uneven stops and mid gaps that waste time and spoil the view.
The daily fiddling interrupts conversations and calls.
Precision start, move, and stop deliver repeatable, programmable positions.
Panels meet cleanly every time.
You save minutes each day and your sightlines stay pristine.
Light in Motion. Sound on Mute.
Noisy motors pull you out of focus and wake kids at the worst moments.
The distraction feels bigger than the task.
Ultra-quiet motion fades into the room.
Bedrooms and media spaces stay serene.
You enjoy motion you barely notice.
Quietly Reliable. Beautifully Controlled. Confidently Lutron.
When you choose Lutron, you feel calm and in control. Your home behaves with quiet precision, even when life gets noisy. You join a circle of architects, luxury hoteliers, and design led homeowners who pick systems that simply work. Lutron is specified in the luxury hospitality suites you have likely already stayed in. The home you are building now runs on the same system.

Keep Control of Your Drapes, Even When the Power Doesn't
Outages can trap drapes open or closed and expose your home.
That helpless feeling spikes during storms and travel.
The D105 manual open master carrier lets you move drapes without power.
Privacy and light control stay in your hands.
You breathe easier because your home maintains its boundaries.
Invest Once. Enjoy Quiet, Reliable Motion Night After Night.
Fragile motors and costly repairs undermine confidence.
Lutron builds for daily life at premium standards. Class 2. 35 V DC. Precision carriers. Belt construction. 175 lb capacity.
Sivoia QS holds at 50 dBA at 3 ft. On Palladiom, the motor drops below 35 dBA, the threshold most luxury hoteliers specify for guest-suite bedrooms.
You invest once and enjoy quiet, consistent performance for years.
Your home feels like infrastructure, not gadgets.
You feel assured that what you bought reflects lasting quality.
A Drapery System That Stays in Sync with Every Lutron Upgrade
Being locked into a dead ecosystem is a real risk.
Lutron’s compatibility spans Caséta, RadioRA 2, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QS and QSX, Quantum, Athena, and myRoom.
Your drapery system stays connected as your controls evolve.
You feel future ready and confident that upgrades will be an elegant step, not a costly redo.
Make Your Home Look Lived In, Even When You're Away.
Static drapes can signal an empty house.
That anxiety grows when you travel.
Schedules, remote control, and vacation scenes vary open and close times with lighting so the house looks lived in while you are away.
You enjoy peace on the flight and calm at the door when you return.
Your home performs security quietly in the background.
Let the Fabric Lead. Let the Hardware Disappear.
Your fabric should be the hero. Hardware should vanish. You get architecture in motion that looks pure in person and perfect in photos.

No Center Gaps. Just True Blackout When You Need It.
Center leaks ruin blackout and privacy, and they disrupt sleep and focus. Pinch pleat overlap near 3.89 in or extended near 8.30 in, plus ripple fold butt, overlap, and extended overlap options, deliver tight closure. You choose the overlap that meets your light blocking needs, so bedrooms go dark and media rooms stay crisp.
Finishes That Disappear into Your Design.
Mismatched track colors pull attention away from the room. Factory finishes in White, Silver, Bronze, and Black let you match ceilings and hardware. The system recedes into the palette, so the space feels calm, refined, and whole.
Luxurious Folds, Clear Views Without the Guesswork.
Get plush folds without losing your view. More fabric creates richer folds. Less fabric keeps more glass clear. We size your drapes for your room and show exactly how much window stays visible when they are open. Pinch pleat options are 2x, 2.5x, and 3x. Ripple fold options are 80%, 100%, and 120%. We calculate the open stack so sightlines stay clear. You get luxurious folds and a clear view. No guessing.
- Fullness is the extra fabric that creates richer folds.
- Stackback is the width of fabric that sits at the side when drapes are open.
The Architecture Wins. The Drapery Follows.
In the homes you remember, the drapery is invisible until it moves. Recessed Sivoia QS Drapery does the same for yours: the track lives inside the ceiling, and only the fabric is visible. Below: what you see, what sits above, and when the architect plans the pocket.

The Ceiling Stays Uninterrupted
Guests walk in and see ceiling, not drapery hardware. Architects photograph the room and the lines stay clean from corner to corner. The drive, the track, and the brackets all sit above the ceiling. The only visible element is the fabric. At the seam where fabric meets ceiling, the reveal is 1/16 inch.
Engineered Into the Home, Not Bolted On
The recessed system goes in during construction, not at the end. Inside the ceiling, a 6 inch deep pocket holds the drive and the track. The drywall closes around it. Brackets follow Lutron’s spacing rules for structural load. Blocking goes in above the ceiling joists to carry the drapery weight. By move-in day, nothing of the system protrudes below the ceiling line.
The Recessed System Lives in the Blueprint
The recessed pocket appears on the architect’s drawings, not as a change order later. New Way joins the architect or contractor at the construction-document stage. We size the pocket, confirm the blocking, and order the system before the framing crew arrives. The drywall goes up around the recess on the same day the rest of the ceiling does. By the time the room reaches paint, the drapery is the only thing left to install.
Where Walls Curve, So Does the Drapery.
Bay windows, conservatories, and corner returns are some of the most beautiful rooms in a house. They are also the rooms where standard drapery hardware quits. Sivoia QS does not. Below: where the curve fits, how we make it, and the constraints to know.

Bay windows, conservatories, and corner returns are some of the most beautiful rooms in a house. They are also the rooms where standard drapery hardware quits. Sivoia QS does not. Below: where the curve fits, how we make it, and the constraints to know.
Where Curved Drapery Earns Its Place
Bay windows. Corner returns where two walls meet at an angle. The curved walls of a conservatory or a master bath. Even custom shapes a designer has drawn into the floor plan. Anywhere the architecture stops being a straight line, the drapery can follow it.
How the Curve Is Made
New Way bends and fabricates each curve as part of the Sivoia QS track. We fit the bend radius to your drawing. EA-region tracks bend as tight as 300 mm. US and Canada tracks need 508 mm minimum. One or two bends per track. Inside, outside, or custom shapes.
What to Know About the Curve
Curved tracks come in White only, since the bending process limits factory finishes. The recessed mud-in pocket is straight-track only, so the curve mounts to the surface of the ceiling instead. Most luxury bay windows look better that way: the curve becomes the feature, not the hidden mechanism. Curves are also a Sivoia QS Drapery capability only. Drapery Lite and Alena are straight by design.
Clear Specs. Confident Projects. Protected Reputation.

One Master Spec to Protect Your Name on Every Project.
Vague specs lead to field failures and blame on the designer. The 26 page specification with dimensional drawings, component matrices, and performance limits lets you show due diligence. You protect credibility and prevent costly mistakes by putting clear expectations in your construction documents.
Fast, Accurate Selection: All in a Single Compatibility Guide.
Cross checking carriers, pleats, draw types, and options steals time from design. Comprehensive matrices match master carriers with pleat type, draw configuration, and Pull to Start status in one guide. You move fast with confidence and keep your attention on the creative work.
Fabrication Specs So Precise, the Blame Game Ends.
Wrong fullness and misaligned snaps trigger disputes and remakes. Snap tape spacing at 4.25 in standard with 1 in at ends, hook set at 0.5 in, and Tex 40 minimum thread strength give you verbatim parameters for work orders. Panels hang precisely and relationships stay strong because everyone follows the same clear standard.
Structural Rules and Docs That Stop Failures Before They Start.
Heavy systems can sag or tear out without defined bracket spacing and structural requirements. Clear member specifications, spacing rules, and load expectations let you assign responsibility to the GC and installer and create a paper trail that prevents failures. Using manufacturer documentation as the common baseline shifts value to your interpretation and orchestration, so you win on expertise and results.
Clean Installs. Clear Roles. Zero Drama on Site.
Unclear mounting, power, and trade coordination cause delays and damage. Cross vendor finger pointing increases risk and stress. Standardized hardware, power clarity, and a unified ecosystem reduce errors and build a legacy quality home. Installation confidence, coordination, and premium differentiation. You want clean installations, clear roles, and zero drama. You want trades aligned, power preplanned, and pockets that fit the first time. You get a unified, documented system that protects finishes, keeps schedules tight, and signals premium quality.

Pristine Finishes, Flush Reveals on the First Pass.
Fear of wall or ceiling damage blocks decisions. Adjustable wall brackets at about 3.5 to 6.6 in extension and a secure ceiling cam lock system suit retrofit and new build. Designed for 5/8 in double layer drywall. Minimum pocket depth is 6 in. Minimum recess width is 2.88 in. Track length equals the tape measure slot distance plus 6 in. Pocket cut width equals the ordered track width minus 8 in. Result. Finishes stay pristine. The reveal lands flush on the first pass.
Install Once, Avoid Remakes, Keep the Schedule Tight.
Custom window treatments often delay move in. Spec errors cause rework and missed deadlines. Standardized hardware and precise specifications reduce back and forth and fabrication mistakes. You install once, avoid remakes, and keep the renovation on schedule.
Power Specs So Clear, Commissioning Just Flows.
Miscommunication about voltage and supply locations stalls coordination. Class 2. 35 V DC. Defined power supply options include plug in, junction box, and panels. Requirements stay explicit, electricians plan early, and commissioning runs smoothly without rework.
One Ecosystem, Clear Benchmarks, Fewer Callbacks.
Multiple vendors create ambiguity and finger pointing when issues arise. A single Lutron ecosystem for hardware, motors, power, and controls plus clear benchmarks for bracket spacing and structural mounting lowers callbacks. You protect your reputation, earn referrals, and differentiate with silent, reliable performance.
Drapery That Joins the Same Scene as the Lights and the Music.

Lutron Drapery is not one product. It is four families running on the same Electronic Drive Unit chassis. New Way fabricates all four as an authorised Lutron partner in Asia. Whether your home was wired for QS Link before the ceiling closed or you are coming to Lutron now without pre-wiring, one of these families fits.
Sivoia QS Drapery
The specification-grade flagship. Three drive options (D105, D145, D175) for panels up to 175 lb. Tracks to 18 ft un-spliced, 30 ft with splices, 18.2 m tandem. Wired or wireless. Compatible across Caséta, RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QSX, Quantum, Athena, and myRoom. The recessed mud-in pocket with the 1/16 in reveal is what most architects specify by name.
Sivoia QS Wireless Drapery Lite
The retrofit answer when you did not pre-wire for Lutron. Same precision motor, same 50 dBA acoustics, in a single-piece 16 ft track with no splices and no wiring through walls. For luxury homes built before the Lutron conversation started, or homes where opening finishes is not an option. Compatible with Caséta, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks QSX. Capped at 105 lb per panel.
Alena Drapery
Hospitality and multi-dwelling. Pull-to-Start as standard, so the guest tugs the panel and the motor takes over. Modular field-replaceable EDU for 8 to 12 year lifecycle planning. Capped at 80 lb and 5.4 m, which covers most guest-room and apartment windows. Two control variants: QS for full system integration, CCI for third-party room panels.
Palladiom Drapery
The showpiece line. Palladiom brings Lutron’s quietest drapery motor at sub-35 dBA, the threshold most luxury hoteliers specify for guest-suite bedrooms, and the baton-and-handle design language to motorised drapery for the first time. Announced at ISE 2026 by Lutron’s UK division. EU launch first, with specifications to be confirmed in late 2026.

Lutron Sivoia Drapery Specifications
Engineering specifications for the Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System fabricated by New Way as an authorised Lutron fabricator in Asia. Verified against current Lutron chassis 086-123i (US/Canada, 2024-11-06) and 085788e (EA, 2025-07-15).
How does the Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System perform in daily use?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System moves heavy drapery panels at 6 inches per second (152 mm/sec) with a motor engineered to operate at 50 dBA or lower at 3 ft, holding stop accuracy within 0.125 in (3 mm) and retaining the last commanded position through power loss for the lifetime of the product.
Bedrooms, media rooms, and main-living-space drapery in homes where the buyer notices when the motor is louder than the room.
Carrier speed and motion smoothness
Each track uses a precision-controlled Electronic Drive Unit that turns the master carrier at 86 RPM, translating to 6 inches per second of fabric travel. The drive is designed for continuous daily cycle, with belt-driven motion that avoids cable stretch and lash. Speed holds across the full panel weight range up to the family ceiling, which on the Sivoia QS D175 drive is 175 lb (79.4 kg).
Engineered ultra-quiet motor acoustics
Motor acoustics are specified at 50 dBA or lower at 3 ft (1 m) on the current Sivoia QS Gen 2.0 chassis platform. A typical residential bedroom at night sits between 30 and 40 dBA. The drapery motor is louder than ambient room hush but quieter than normal conversation, which lets the system run in bedrooms during sleep without waking light sleepers.
Stop accuracy and position memory
Stop accuracy is 0.125 in (3 mm). The system retains the last commanded position through power loss for the lifetime of the product, with no battery, no capacitor degradation, and no commissioning required after grid restoration. This is the engineering reason a Lutron scene returns to its exact stop point every time, not approximately.
Power-outage behaviour
Sivoia QS Drapery offers an optional D105 manual-open master carrier on the D105 and D105-P drives, which lets the user move panels by hand when power is unavailable. The D145 and D175 drives prioritise the higher load ceiling and do not include the manual-open option, but the same precision-carrier construction holds the panel in its last position during loss rather than dropping or freewheeling.
How does the system integrate with ceilings and architecture?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is designed for recessed mud-in-flange installation into a ceiling pocket of 6 inches (152 mm) minimum depth and 2.88 inches (73 mm) minimum recess width at 1.1 inches depth, delivering a 1/16 inch reveal where fabric meets ceiling. Surface ceiling and wall-mount installations are also supported.
Specifiers and luxury homeowners who want fabric to read as architecture, with no visible hardware on the ceiling plane.
Recessed mud-in pocket dimensions
Pocket geometry: 6 in (152 mm) minimum depth and 2.88 in (73 mm) recess width at 1.1 in depth, suitable for 5/8 in double-layer drywall. Track length equals the tape-measure slot distance plus 6 in. Pocket cut width equals the ordered track width minus 8 in.
Reveal and signature aesthetic
The 1/16 in reveal at the mud-in flange is the visual signature designers specify by name. Curved tracks are White only and not compatible with the recessed pocket: recessed installation is straight-track only.
Wall-mount projection range
Adjustable wall-mount brackets project 3.5 to 6.6 in (89 to 168 mm) on single tracks and 9 to 12.1 in (229 to 307 mm) on dual tracks. This range lets the system clear deep sills, returns, and crown moulding without custom fabrication.
Surface ceiling mount
The cam-lock ceiling mount holds the track flush to a finished ceiling without protrusion past the track profile, supporting retrofit installation where opening the ceiling is not an option.
Finish options
Track and bracket finishes are White, Silver, Bronze, and Black across all four families. Wall-mount and dual wall-mount brackets match the chosen track finish. Curved or bent tracks ship in White only.
Bracket spacing structural rules
First bracket sits 4 to 8 in (102 to 203 mm) from each end. Then 16 in (406 mm) between the first two interior brackets. Intermediate brackets space 16 to 24 in (406 to 610 mm) apart.
How does the system handle fabric, folds, and blackout?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System supports pinch pleat and ripple fold construction across all four families, plus S-fold on the EA chassis only, with pinch pleat overlap up to 8.30 in extended and ripple fold offering butt, overlap, and extended-overlap options for near-blackout closure. Fabric is Customer's Own Material via the Lutron Qualified Shade Provider workflow.
Bedrooms, screening rooms, and projects where the buyer wants tight closure without sacrificing how much window the drapes clear when open.
Supported pleat styles
Pinch pleat (classic, tailored). Ripple fold (continuous wave, modern). S-fold (sleek, low stackback). S-fold is available on the EA chassis 085788e (2025-07-15) only, not on the US/Canada chassis 086-123i.
Fullness options for folds
Pinch pleat fullness: 2x, 2.5x, 3x (3x for sheer fabrics only). Ripple fold fullness: 80%, 100%, 120%. Higher fullness produces richer folds. Lower fullness preserves clear glass when drapes are open. New Way calculates expected stackback width per project so the buyer sees how much of the window remains visible at the side.
Centre overlap for blackout
Pinch pleat overlap (drives without Pull-to-Start): 3.89 in standard or 8.30 in extended. With Pull-to-Start, overlap is 3 in standard or 6 in extended. Ripple fold offers butt, overlap, and extended overlap configurations.
Blackout overlap rule for full light blocking
Lutron's training-deck blackout guidance calls for 305 mm (12 in) of overlap on all sides for total light blocking. Reaching that target requires extended centre overlap plus detailed pocket returns, light traps at the head, and a blackout-rated fabric or liner.
Fabric and workroom requirements
Drapery panels are fabricated by a qualified workroom from Customer's Own Material via the Lutron Qualified Shade Provider workflow, or from the Lutron Performance Fabrics certified portfolio. Pull-to-Start configurations require Tex 40 minimum thread strength for snap-tape attachment. Hook setting for pinch pleat is 0.5 in (13 mm) from the fabric top. Ripple fold snap-tape spacing is 4.25 in (108 mm) standard, with end snaps 1 in from adjacent.
How does the system integrate with Lutron controls and other platforms?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is compatible with Lutron Caséta, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QS and QSX, Quantum, Athena, and myRoom, and participates in scenes triggered by Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google when paired with a Lutron processor or bridge.
Lutron-installed homes where the buyer wants the drapery to behave like every other Lutron device in the room: on-scene, on-schedule, and on-keypad.
Lutron ecosystem coverage by family
Sivoia QS Drapery covers the full Lutron stack from Caséta through Athena. Sivoia QS Wireless Drapery Lite covers Caséta, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks QSX. Alena Drapery covers Athena, myRoom XC, and third-party CCI. Palladiom Drapery ecosystem coverage is to be confirmed when Lutron publishes EU spec sheets.
Wired versus wireless protocol
Sivoia QS supports QS Link wired and the Sivoia QS Wireless Receiver (ClearConnect RF). Drapery Lite is wireless only, by design, for retrofit installations. Alena supports QS wired, QS Wireless, and CCI standalone.
Voice control platforms
When paired with a Lutron processor or bridge, the system participates in voice scenes through Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google. The drapery responds to the same scene command that adjusts lights, shades, and audio.
Keypad integration
The system ties to Alisse and Palladiom keypads, where a single engraved button (Morning, Entertain, Goodnight, Movie) moves drapery, lights, and shades together. Keypad engraving and finish are specified per project.
Scene and schedule commissioning
New Way commissions Lutron scenes and schedules as part of project handover. Sunrise and sunset triggers, vacation scenes, and time-of-day routines align drapery with the rest of the home automatically, without manual recall.
Pull-to-Start standalone option
Alena supports Pull-to-Start as standard. The Sivoia QS D105-P drive supports Pull-to-Start in single-track, centre-draw configurations with one splice maximum. Pull-to-Start is not available on D145, D175, tandem, or curved tracks.
What are the installation, power, and reliability specifications?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System operates on 35 V Class 2 DC power (24 to 36 V on Drapery Lite), with adjustable wall and ceiling brackets, defined bracket-spacing and structural-support rules, and an indoor operating envelope of 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C) at 0 to 90% non-condensing humidity.
Designers and Lutron dealers running projects where electrical, structural, and finish trades need a documented single-source spec to coordinate from.
Operating voltage and power supplies
Sivoia QS Drapery and Alena run on 35 V Class 2 DC. Drapery Lite runs on 24 to 36 V low-voltage. Power supply options: plug-in (QSPS-P1 through P4, -1-35V variants), junction-box-fed (QSPS-J-1-35V), 10-output power panels (QSPS-10PNL and QSPSY-10PNL), and configurable smart panels. Smart panels support multiple drives per output on Sivoia QS only. Alena and Drapery Lite are limited to one drive per power supply.
QS Link wiring topology
Wired Sivoia QS uses QS Link: a 4-conductor stranded twisted pair plus a separate Class 2 power conductor. Multi-drop topology. Up to 100 devices per QS Link. Up to 2,000 ft of bus length per the current Lutron QS Wiring and Programming guide 045982 Rev. A (2024-09).
Bracket spacing and structural load
First bracket sits 4 to 8 in (102 to 203 mm) from each end. 16 in (406 mm) between the first two interior brackets. Intermediate brackets at 16 to 24 in (406 to 610 mm). Structural rules in the Lutron specification document define the load and spacing required to handle the drive ceiling of the chosen variant, up to 175 lb on Sivoia QS D175.
Operating environment
Operating temperature: 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C), indoor use only. Operating humidity: 0 to 90%, non-condensing. The system is not rated for outdoor or wet locations.
Track length and splicing
Sivoia QS: 18 ft (5.5 m) no splice, 30 ft (9.1 m) with up to 2 splices, 12.7 m pinch pleat with D175 plus splices, and up to 18.2 m tandem per the Lutron training deck. Drapery Lite: 16 ft (4.9 m) single piece, no splice. Alena: 5.4 m (216 in), no splice.
EDU physical specifications
EDU dimensions are 9.375 × 3.375 in (238 × 86 mm), shared across families. EDU weight is 1.9 lb (0.9 kg). Track profile is 3.3 in (84 mm) wide, with 1.6 in (42 mm) idler-side depth and 1.3 in (32 mm) drive-side depth. Wall clearance from the window is 2.36 in (60 mm).

Why Choose New Way Outdoor Blinds Over Alternatives?
New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver superior performance across key metrics compared to common outdoor shading alternatives. Here's how they compare in real-world applications.
New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Open Roller Shades
New Way Outdoor Blinds with guided side channels and weighted bottom rails provide 85% better wind and rain protection compared to open roller shades, eliminating fabric flapping and water ingress that plagues unguided systems on high-rise balconies above the 8th floor where wind speeds reach 40+ km/h.
New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Outdoor Curtains
New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver rated glare reduction (65% heat gain reduction with 5% mesh) and consistent tension for cleaner sightlines compared to outdoor curtains, which provide only 20-30% heat reduction and require frequent adjustment in wind. Engineered meshes maintain 90% of appearance after 5 years versus 50-60% for curtain fabrics.
New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Fixed Awnings
New Way Outdoor Blinds add vertical guidance that provides lateral rain protection and on-demand privacy without permanent structural changes required for fixed awnings. Retractable operation allows full sunlight access during cooler months, while fixed awnings create permanent shade whether needed or not—reducing flexibility by 100%.

When Are New Way Outdoor Blinds the Right Choice?
New Way Outdoor Blinds excel in specific outdoor environments where weather protection, durability, and year-round usability matter most.
Year-Round Balcony Living Spaces
New Way Outdoor Blinds are perfect for transforming balconies into year-round outdoor rooms—creating dry, cool, private spaces suitable for morning coffee, evening reading, and weekend entertaining throughout all seasons. The weather-sealed design extends usable outdoor time by approximately 180 days per year in tropical climates with frequent afternoon rain.
Family Patios and Entertainment Areas
New Way Outdoor Blinds protect furniture, décor, and guests from sudden tropical showers and harsh midday sun, making birthdays, holiday gatherings, and weekend barbecues 90% more reliable by eliminating weather-related cancellations. The UV protection and temperature reduction create comfortable outdoor dining conditions even during 2-4pm peak heat hours.
High-Rise and Exposed Installations
New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver calm, low-rattle performance on windy high-floor balconies (8th story and above) where standard non-guided shades struggle—eliminating the constant fabric flapping and wind noise that makes unprotected high-rise outdoor spaces unusable 50% of the time when wind speeds exceed 30 km/h.
Coastal and Seaside Properties
New Way Outdoor Blinds are engineered for properties within 5km of the ocean where salt-air corrosion destroys standard outdoor products within 2-3 years. The 316 stainless steel hardware and corrosion-resistant aluminum frames maintain functionality and appearance 3x longer than budget alternatives, protecting your investment in harsh coastal environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pre-Sales
Is the Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System right for my home or project?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is the right choice for floor-to-ceiling drapery in luxury Lutron-installed homes, blackout bedrooms, media rooms, ballrooms, and hospitality projects where the buyer wants invisible hardware, quiet motion at 50 dBA or lower, and full integration into Lutron scenes. New Way fabricates the system as an authorised Lutron fabricator in Asia, typically for architects, interior designers, and homeowners already invested in Lutron lighting control. A simpler standalone motorised track is enough for a single small window. For a coordinated, infrastructure-grade smart home where drapery joins the same scene as the lights and the keypads, this system is the stronger long-term choice.
What makes a New Way fabricated Lutron Sivoia drapery different from regular motorised curtain tracks?
A New Way fabricated Lutron Sivoia drapery differs from typical motorised curtain tracks by combining recessed mud-in-flange architecture with a 1/16 in reveal, ultra-quiet motion engineered at 50 dBA or lower at 3 ft, and native participation in Lutron scenes across the full ecosystem from Caséta to Athena. Most generic tracks expose hardware, run louder, and rely on standalone remotes that cannot synchronise with whole-home lighting. As an authorised Lutron fabricator in Asia, New Way builds to current Lutron chassis specifications 086-123i (US, 2024-11-06) and 085788e (EA, 2025-07-15), with tested motion at 6 in/sec, 3 mm stop accuracy, and lifetime power-failure memory. The result on a design-led project is cleaner ceilings, predictable performance, and one responsible ecosystem instead of multiple disconnected brands.
Is the Lutron Sivoia drapery worth the premium compared with cheaper motorised tracks?
For projects where every detail is decided before the ceiling closes, the Lutron Sivoia drapery track is the difference between a home built around a system and a home built around a workaround. Cheaper tracks introduce noise above 50 dBA, misalignment past 3 mm, and compatibility gaps across Caséta, RA3, HomeWorks QSX, and Athena that emerge after the renovation is done. Sivoia hardware, fabricated by New Way as an authorised Lutron partner in Asia, is treated as part of the home’s infrastructure: belt-driven motion, position memory through power loss, load ratings up to 175 lb on the D175 drive, and a hospitality-grade silence threshold (sub-35 dBA on Palladiom) most luxury hoteliers specify. On a project where callbacks and reputation matter, the higher initial investment pays for itself through fewer failures, cleaner commissioning, and a daily experience the homeowner stops noticing because it just works.
Specifications
How much weight and track length can the Lutron Sivoia drapery system handle?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System handles different panel weights and track lengths depending on the family. Sivoia QS Drapery moves up to 175 lb (79.4 kg) per track on the D175 drive, with 145 lb on D145 and 105 lb on D105, across tracks up to 18 ft (5.5 m) un-spliced, 30 ft (9.1 m) with splices, and 18.2 m in tandem configuration. Sivoia QS Wireless Drapery Lite caps at 105 lb on a single 16 ft (4.9 m) track with no splicing. Alena Drapery caps at 80 lb (36.3 kg) on a 5.4 m (216 in) track. New Way reviews drapery width, height, fullness, and fabric type to confirm feasibility for each opening before fabrication.
Does this track work with my existing Lutron system, Alexa, HomeKit, and Google?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System integrates with major Lutron platforms including Caséta, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QS and QSX, Quantum, Athena, and myRoom, so on most projects it joins an existing Lutron ecosystem rather than forcing a swap-out. Once connected to the appropriate Lutron processor or bridge, the drapery participates in scenes triggered by Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google. Drapery Lite is wireless only and covers Caséta, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks QSX. Alena covers Athena, myRoom XC, and third-party CCI room panels. New Way and the project integrator configure scenes during commissioning.
Materials
How do fullness and pleat style affect how the drapes look and how much window stays visible?
On a Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System, fullness and pleat style directly shape both the richness of folds and how much glass remains visible when drapes are open. Pinch pleat fullness ranges from 2x (leaner) to 2.5x (standard) to 3x (sheer fabrics only). Ripple fold options of 80%, 100%, or 120% create modern continuous-wave folds. Higher fullness produces richer folds but parks more fabric at the side as stackback. New Way calculates expected stackback for the chosen style and fullness before fabrication, so the buyer sees exactly how much window will be covered at the sides.
Can I reuse existing curtains with this track, or do I need new drapery?
Existing curtains can sometimes be reused on a Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System, but only when they match the required pleat style, fullness, snap-tape spacing, and thread strength. Panels that lack ripple fold snap-tape spacing at 4.25 in (108 mm), hook setting at 0.5 in (13 mm) from the fabric top, or Tex 40 minimum thread strength on Pull-to-Start configurations may not hang evenly or move smoothly on this system. New Way and a qualified drapery workroom compare existing panels to Lutron’s fabrication parameters before commissioning. When the panels do not align with these standards, new drapery is recommended to achieve the quiet, precise motion this track is engineered to deliver.
Performance
Can the Lutron Sivoia drapery achieve true blackout in bedrooms and media rooms?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is well suited for blackout bedrooms and media rooms because it supports extended centre overlaps, repeatable stop points within 3 mm, and predictable stackback. Pinch pleat overlap can be specified at 3.89 in standard or 8.30 in extended on drives without Pull-to-Start, and ripple fold offers butt, overlap, and extended-overlap configurations that significantly reduce centre light leaks compared with standard split-draw tracks. Lutron’s training-deck blackout guidance calls for 305 mm (12 in) of overlap on all sides for total light blocking. Combined with a blackout-rated fabric or liner, this setup achieves near-full blackout for sleep, cinema, and glare-sensitive spaces.
Installation
Can the Lutron Sivoia drapery be recessed so the hardware disappears into the ceiling?
Yes. The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is designed for recessed mud-in-flange installation, with a slim Electronic Drive Unit and a track that fits into a ceiling pocket of 6 in (152 mm) minimum depth and 2.88 in (73 mm) recess width at 1.1 in depth, in 5/8 in double-layer drywall. When installed correctly, only the fabric is visible at the 1/16 in reveal, and the drive disappears into the ceiling plane. The track length equals the tape-measure slot distance plus 6 in, and the pocket cut width equals the ordered track width minus 8 in. Recessed installation is straight-track only.
Warranty
Can I install the Lutron Sivoia drapery myself, or do I need a professional?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is best installed by professionals who understand ceiling pockets, structural backing, Lutron QS Link wiring, and Class 2 power, not as a DIY weekend project. The system relies on bracket spacing rules (first bracket 4 to 8 in from each end, 16 in between the first two interior brackets, 16 to 24 in intermediate), structural reinforcement, correct 35 V DC wiring, and accurate pocket dimensions to perform as tested. New Way typically works with contractors, integrators, and drapery workrooms who follow Lutron’s specifications and drawings.
Buying Journey
How reliable is the system, and what support does New Way provide?
The Lutron Sivoia Drapery Track System is engineered as infrastructure-grade hardware intended to operate quietly and consistently for years under daily use. It uses belt-driven motion, precision carriers, lifetime power-failure memory, and clearly defined load and mounting requirements informed by Lutron’s experience across thousands of installations worldwide. As an authorised Lutron fabricator in Asia, New Way backs the hardware with project-specific drawings, coordination support for electricians and builders, and access to Lutron’s broader technical resources. The QS Link bus supports up to 100 devices and 2,000 ft of wiring per current Lutron documentation 045982 Rev. A (2024-09).
