The concealed Lutron shade specified before the ceiling closed.

Recessed in a 4-inch ceiling pocket. The motor runs below 35 decibels.

You have stood in a Four Seasons suite. The ceiling line ran clean. No fascia. No exposed bracket. No pelmet. The shading was specified before the drywall closed.

Your home can read that way too. The same recessed Lutron Sivoia QS roller chassis fits luxury Malaysian and Singaporean homes. Sized to the pocket your architect drew at concept design.

Below: how the pocket disappears. The chassis that fits your span. The motor that stays below 35 decibels. The warranty: 8 years on Lutron, 5 years on us.

Trusted, Loved And Installed By

Designed to disappear into your architecture.

In a Four Seasons or Aman suite, the ceiling line reads as one continuous plane. You see the wall, the glass, the daylight. You do not see the device that filters the light. The same detail belongs in your home. The roller, the brackets, and the fabric all live inside a slot in your ceiling. The slot runs from 3.5 inches at the smallest to 7 inches for atrium glass. Below: the pocket family. The dual configuration. The flush slot. The three top treatments.

Single pockets come in four sizes. Each pairs with a chassis sized to your span.

The 3.5 and 4-inch pockets carry the Roller 64. Right for bedrooms and studies up to 12 feet wide.

The 5-inch pocket carries the Roller 100. Right for double-volume living rooms up to 14 feet wide.

The 7-inch pocket carries the Roller 225. Sized for atriums and walls of glass up to 16 feet wide.

The pocket goes first. The chassis follows.

Two dual pockets carry a sheer and a blackout in one slot.

The 5.5 by 7.5-inch pocket takes the Roller 64. The 7 by 11-inch pocket takes the Roller 100.

The two shades run on separate drives. The morning scene drops the sheer. The blackout stays open.

The evening scene drops the blackout. The sheer follows ten minutes later.

Most-specified in luxury master suites.

The slot finishes flush with your ceiling.

A guest sees three things: a detailed ceiling, a wall of fabric, a window. The roller lives between them.

Three details keep the slot exact. Painter’s tape during plaster. Counter-sunk screws. Low-torque mounting. The drywall trade gets a one-page brief before they start.

Three top treatments cover the headrail.

Fully recessed: nothing visible. Fascia: a clean metal line at the head. Fascia with top back cover: visible fascia, hidden top hardware.

Each ships in white, black, bronze, silver, or custom RAL colour. The architect picks the language at concept design.

The fabric you see, not the mechanism you don't.

In a luxury suite, your eye lands on the fabric. The texture. The way it filters the afternoon. The colour against the millwork. You never notice the device behind it. The same Lutron library serves those suites. Over 500 designer fabrics across sheer, sunscreen, light-filtering, dim-out, and blackout. PVC-free options when sustainability is the brief. Below: how the five families work. The THEIA certification. The PVC-free choices. The Customer's Own Material workflow for a Pierre Frey or Romo.

Below: how the five families work. The THEIA certification. The PVC-free choices. The Customer's Own Material workflow for a Pierre Frey or Romo.

The library organises into five families across four collections: Classico, Gallery, Atelier, Commercial.

Sheer fabrics keep the view. Daylight softens to a glow.

Sunscreen sits at 5 to 10 percent openness. Strong glare cut for west-facing glass.

Light-filtering and dim-out fabrics carry 1 to 3 percent openness. Daytime privacy without full darkness.

Blackout fabrics block all light. Paired with side channels, they deliver hospitality-grade bedroom darkness.

THEIA-certified fabrics hold openness within 0.75 percent and visible light transmittance within 1 percent.

Across a seven-shade run in your living room, every shade performs the same. The eye sees one fabric, not seven.

The Aman, the Four Seasons, the Mandarin Oriental, the St. Regis: their hospitality suites pull from this same Lutron library.

For projects targeting GREENGUARD Gold, Cradle to Cradle, OEKO-TEX, or LEED v4.1, the library carries PVC-free options.

Loop and Basketweave Eco2 lead the sustainability list. Anti-microbial, lead-free, RoHS-compliant, and fire-rated options ship from the same library.

The atelier matches the certification target to the fabric at concept design. One choice can carry both THEIA and GREENGUARD.

For a non-Lutron fabric (a Romo, a Pierre Frey, a heritage textile), the Customer’s Own Material workflow tests it against the chassis.

The fabric gets checked for roll diameter, weight, opacity, and durability. If it passes, it ships into the production line.

The lead time runs longer than catalogue fabrics. The atelier flags it at concept design, so your project schedule absorbs it.

Even at the Four Seasons, you have seen the bracket.

You have walked into a Four Seasons suite where the rest of the room was perfect. But the bracket below the headrail caught your eye anyway. The pelmet didn't quite meet the cove lighting. The shade dropped from a visible device. The right concealed install resolves these once. Before the drywall closes. The bracket lives inside the pocket. The pelmet is the pocket. The slot finishes flush. Below: the four failure modes the atelier catches at the pre-construction briefing.

Before this, the bracket sat below the ceiling. The pelmet finished at a different plane than the cove lighting. A guest’s eye traveled to the device every time they walked in.

After this, the bracket lives inside the pocket. The pelmet is the pocket. The slot finishes flush. The eye stays on the architecture.

Before this, the household learned about Lutron after the drywall went up. The construction team had sealed everything. Retrofitting a concealed shade into a finished ceiling rarely works.

After this, the atelier sits with the architect, the interior designer, the engineer, and the AV integrator at concept design. While the ceiling is still open.

Before this, the reveal collected plaster during finishing. Painter’s tape was missing during paint. The reveal closed up by a few millimetres. The closure panel binds at the edge.

After this, the briefing covers it all. The plaster finish. Painter’s tape inside the pocket. Counter-sunk screws. Low-torque mounting. The reveal stays exact.

Before this, the closure panel was sealed. The roller could not be reached.

After this, service access is detailed in the construction documents. The closure panel comes off without scaffolding. The fabric replaces from below. The drive electronics service from the same slot.

Aligned across every window. Within 3 millimetres.

Across a wall of glass, your eye corrects every time the bottom bars don't quite align. You may not name it as the problem. But you notice the line is off. Intelligent Hembar Alignment, included on every Sivoia QS chassis, holds the line within 3 millimetres. Eight shades inside six separate ceiling pockets still read as one continuous treatment. Below: how IHA holds across separate pockets. The motor self-check at 500 times per second. The three deployment levels. The coupled drives.

Intelligent Hembar Alignment is included on every Sivoia QS Roller 64, Roller 100, and Roller 225.

Eight living-room shades sitting inside six separate pockets still read as one line. IHA holds every chassis to the same hembar position. The pocket detail doesn’t affect alignment. The drive electronics do.

The human eye detects a quarter-inch difference at five feet. IHA holds the line below that threshold.

The drive electronics monitor motor speed 500 times every second. As the fabric wraps the tube, the diameter grows. The drive varies RPM to hold linear speed constant.

The shade descends at the same pace every time. The Welcome scene drops to the same position every morning. No mechanical drift accumulates over years.

Standard IHA ships factory pre-calibrated. It works on its own.

Customised IHA accounts for fabric variation between batches. The atelier applies shim tape during commissioning.

Advanced IHA integrates with Lutron Quantum. For sloped roofs, uneven shade lengths, and choreographed movement across a facade.

The atelier picks the deployment level against your glazing geometry.

Coupled drives on the Roller 100, 200CW, and 300 carry up to six panels on one drive. IHA holds the bottom bar aligned across the whole coupled run.

A curtain-wall facade with eight coupled panels reads as one continuous treatment.

For curved spans up to 45 degrees and angled facades up to 20 degrees, cable-guided and tensioned variants hold the same tolerance.

Below 35 decibels. Quieter than your air conditioning.

In a master bedroom at 3 a.m., you hear a few things. The air conditioning. The fridge in the kitchen. The occasional vehicle outside. You do not want to add a fourth. The Roller 64 drive stays below 35 decibels at three feet. The Roller 100 and Roller 225 stay below 38. Inside a ceiling pocket the chassis sits closer to the room than a surface-mount headrail. Lutron's drive electronics are engineered for that proximity. Below: the 35 decibel threshold. The 38 decibel spec. The soft start, soft stop. The reason pocket proximity doesn't raise the noise.

The Roller 64 drive stays at no more than 35 decibels at three feet. Per Lutron’s published spec.

35 decibels sits at the threshold of a quiet library. The Roller 64 is the most-specified concealed chassis for Malaysian bedrooms and studies.

In a master bedroom at 3 a.m., the drive moves below the noise floor of your air conditioning. The Welcome scene rises before you wake. You do not wake because of it.

The Roller 100 stays at no more than 38 decibels at three feet. The Roller 225, at atrium scale, stays below 38 too.

Quieter than a refrigerator hum. Quieter than your air conditioning.

The Roller 225 carries spans to 18 feet wide on the same drive electronics. The Cinema scene closes the wall of glass without you noticing the shades.

Sivoia QS drives start gradually and stop gradually. No mechanical click at the start. No thud at the bottom.

Inside a ceiling pocket the drive sits closer to the room. That softness matters more, not less.

The shade moves the way a hand would. The eye sees fabric descending. Not a device.

Lutron’s drive electronics are engineered for either surface-mount or recessed-pocket installation. Pocket geometry doesn’t amplify noise.

The closure panel detail, the chassis tolerance, the pocket dimensions: all part of the acoustic envelope Lutron specifies.

Field measurements inside a recessed pocket confirm operation at the published values.

On the same processor as your lights.

The Lutron Pico remote, the Sunnata keypad, the Lutron app: they already run your lighting, your drapery, your climate. Adding a second smart-home system for the shades is the kind of compromise you bought Lutron to avoid. The recessed Sivoia QS chassis joins the same Lutron control bus as the lighting. No bridge. No extra controller. The roller becomes a layer of the home. Below: the native systems. The keypad menu. Voice integration. Custom-engraved scene names.

No new app. No new device. Same hand-held.

Voice control reaches the shades through the Lutron processor and your existing voice ecosystem. The phrase that already lowers the lights in the master bedroom also lowers the shades. Sonos integration is supported.

The Alisse, Palladiom, Sunnata, and seeTouch QS keypads support custom-engraved scene buttons.

The names are yours: Welcome, Open House, Dinner Party, Cinema, Quiet Morning, Sundown, Goodnight, Garden.

The atelier defines them with you during commissioning. The keypads ship engraved.

The room moves with you.

The shades that track the sun for you.

By 3 p.m. the west-facing glass is hot. The glare on the screens is unworkable. Someone reaches for the keypad. By 3:45 the sun has moved and the room is overcompensating. Lutron Hyperion Solar Adaptive shading reads the sun every minute. The shade moves to the right position automatically. Glare goes away without anyone touching a button. Below: the four sun modes. The cooling savings. The autonomy. The override.

Lutron Hyperion Solar Adaptive shading reads the sun every minute. The shade moves to the right position automatically. Glare goes away without anyone touching a button. Below: the four sun modes. The cooling savings. The autonomy. The override.

The Hyperion engine on HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 reads four factors every minute. Latitude, longitude, season, time of day. Then it picks one of four modes.

Direct Sun lowers the shade. Cuts UV and reflected glare on screens.

Reflected Sun raises slightly. Recovers view, still controls secondary glare.

Bright Sky holds at a daylight-balanced position.

Overcast retracts fully. Light comes back when the sun is not the constraint.

Lutron’s commercial case studies document up to 30 percent cooling savings on Hyperion installations.

The reason: the shade pre-empts solar heat gain. It does not react to it.

In Klang Valley homes with west-facing glass, the shade lowers before the room heats up. The HVAC load drops. The savings compound across a year.

Hyperion is a passive shading layer, not an active one. You do not press a button to invoke it.

The system runs continuously on the same Lutron processor that runs your lighting and your climate. The shade moves to the right position without intervention.

The default is autonomous. You notice the room being right before noticing the system that made it right.

On a day you want the shade up despite the sun, the Lutron app and the Pico remote override Hyperion instantly. Or down despite the overcast.

The system pauses for the duration you set. Tomorrow, the four-mode logic resumes.

Control is shared. Never taken.

Specified before the ceiling closes.

You have heard the line before. Probably from your interior designer or your AV integrator. "We should have specified this earlier." The bracket would have been hidden. The wiring would have been clean. The keypad would have been at the right height. Late discovery is the most common regret on luxury homes. For the Lutron Concealed Roller Shade, the conversation happens once. In one meeting. With the architect, the interior designer, the AV integrator, and the engineer in the same room. Before the drywall closes. Below: the four-trade briefing. The showroom mock-up. The five questions. The one-page brief for the drywall trade.

Before the drywall closes. Below: the four-trade briefing. The showroom mock-up. The five questions. The one-page brief for the drywall trade.

The atelier sits with the architect, the interior designer, the AV integrator, and the engineer. Before the joinery is finalised.

The session covers chassis sizing, pocket depth, fabric selection, closure profile, wiring path, and keypad locations.

The recessed shade is detailed into the room. Not retrofitted onto it.

The trades leave with one coordinated drawing set. The construction sequence runs in the order they agreed.

The atelier mocks up the fabric, the openness factor, and the integration scene before any shade is fabricated.

You, the spouse, and the interior designer approve the look in the showroom. Mass production starts after sign-off.

The mock-up catches the fabric drape the designer didn’t expect. The openness factor the spouse pushed back on. The scene timing the AV integrator wants to refine. Each gets resolved on the showroom floor.

Where does the chassis recess. What is the wiring path. Which scenes will the shades appear in. Which Pico or keypad runs which group. Which openness factor matches the orientation and the glass.

The pocket size locks at this conversation. Once the ceiling closes, the pocket is fixed.

The five questions take thirty minutes. They save a year of “we should have done that differently” after handover.

The atelier ships a one-page brief to the drywall finisher.

It covers reveal tolerance, painter’s tape during plaster, counter-sunk screws, low-torque mounting, closure-panel clearance, and post-paint inspection.

The drywall trade receives it before they tape the first joint. The pocket doesn’t need rework because the finisher knew the spec.

Three chassis. The bedroom, the living, the atrium.

You think of your home by room, not by chassis size. The master suite. The living. The atrium with the wall of glass. The chassis question is the architect's question, not yours. The Lutron Concealed Roller Shade family runs on three Sivoia QS chassis sizes, each keyed to a specific span. The atelier walks through the chassis against the architect's elevation, not the other way around. Below: the Roller 64 for the bedroom and study. The Roller 100 for the double-volume living room. The Roller 225 for the atrium. The atelier review at concept design.

The Roller 64 covers windows up to 64 square feet. Standard widths to 8 feet. The extended-width option pushes that to 12 feet.

Pockets: 3.5-inch single, 4-inch single, 5.5 by 7.5-inch dual.

The most-specified chassis for Malaysian luxury bedrooms and studies. The quietest in the family at no more than 35 decibels.

The Roller 100 covers up to 100 square feet per drive. Single-panel widths from 24 inches to 14 feet 8 inches.

The typical living-room shade in a Malaysian double-volume home sits around 10 feet wide.

Pockets: 5-inch single, 7 by 11-inch dual. The workhorse chassis in luxury residential.

The Roller 225 covers up to 225 square feet. Single-panel widths up to 16 feet wide.

Spring assist for tall, narrow shades. Pocket: 7-inch single.

Selected for atriums, double-height window walls, and monumental glazing.

The decision between Roller 64, 100, and 225 is rarely contested once the pocket section is on the table.

Roller 225 covers up to 225 sq ft (20.9 sq m). Single-panel width range 31.75 in to 190 in (806 mm to 4.83 m / 15.83 ft) per [Lutron.com](http://Lutron.com) accessed 2026-05-20. Spring assist for tall, narrow shades. Pocket pairing is 7 in single (178 mm by 178 mm). Selected for atriums, double-height window walls, and monumental glazing.

Shade speed and deflection control

Bottom-bar speed runs at 3.6 in/sec (91.4 mm/sec) across the Sivoia QS family, per Lutron's product configurator accessed 2026-05-21. WIDR carbon-fiber deflection tubes are auto-specified by the Lutron Quoting Tool when fabric span risks deflection.

Quick Answer

The Sivoia QS Roller 64 drive will not exceed 35 dBA at three feet, per Lutron Specification Submittal 085705c (2023). Roller 100 holds below 38 dBA per Submittal 086106b (2017). Roller 225 also holds below 38 dBA. Inside a recessed ceiling pocket where the chassis sits closer to the room than a surface-mount headrail, those values are the engineered acoustic floor.

Best For

Bedroom, nursery, home-office, and hospitality guestroom installations where motorised motion must stay inaudible at sleep distance, even with the drive housed inside a ceiling pocket.

Roller 64 at sub-35 decibels

Lutron specifies the Roller 64 drive at no more than 35 dBA at three feet (1 m) per Submittal 085705c. The sound level sits at the threshold of a quiet library. A bedside reader will not hear it. A guestroom sleeper will not be roused.

Roller 100 below 38 decibels

Lutron specifies the Roller 100 drive at no more than 38 dBA at three feet per Submittal 086106b. Quieter than a refrigerator hum. Quieter than the air conditioning. Sits comfortably in a double-volume living room without intruding on conversation.

Roller 225 atrium-scale, still below 38 decibels

Roller 225 carries additional torque for spans to 190 in wide and still holds below 38 dBA. The quietness is engineered into the drive electronics, not a function of drive size. Specific submittal reference for R225 confirmed at quotation.

Soft start, soft stop on every drive

Sivoia QS drives accelerate gradually at the start of motion and decelerate gradually at the end. There is no mechanical click at the start of travel and no thud at the bottom. The shade moves the way a hand would move it.

Pocket proximity does not raise the noise floor

Lutron's drive electronics are engineered for either surface-mount or recessed-pocket installation. Field acoustic measurements held inside a recessed pocket configuration confirm operation at the specified submittal values.

Quick Answer

Intelligent Hembar Alignment is the patented two-part Lutron control system, included on every Sivoia QS Concealed Roller Shade, that monitors motor speed 500 times per second and applies roll-up diameter compensation as the fabric wraps the tube, holding bottom-bar alignment within 3 millimetres (1/8 inch) at all times across adjacent shades, even at non-preset stops, per Lutron IHA technical white paper 367-2063 (2025).

Best For

Walls of windows in luxury residential corridors, double-volume living rooms, and monumental atrium openings, where the line at the bottom of the shades must read as one continuous treatment even when the shades sit inside separate ceiling pockets.

Five-hundred-hertz motor speed monitoring

Closed-loop electronic speed control checks motor speed 500 times per second and corrects against load, fabric wear, and tube diameter. The hembar linear speed stays constant from full open to full close, regardless of where the fabric sits on the roll.

Roll-up diameter compensation

As the fabric wraps the tube, the roll diameter grows. Without compensation, the hembar would accelerate as the shade rises. The Lutron drive electronics vary RPM continuously to hold linear speed constant. The shade descends at the same pace the eye expects.

Three deployment levels

Standard IHA ships factory pre-calibrated on every Sivoia QS Concealed Roller Shade. Customised IHA accounts for lot-to-lot fabric variation and shim tape applied during commissioning. Advanced IHA integrates with Quantum for sloped roofs, uneven shade lengths, and choreographed shade movement across an entire facade.

Alignment across separate pockets

A row of eight living-room shades sitting inside six separate ceiling pockets still reads as one continuous treatment because IHA holds every chassis to the same hembar position. The pocket detail does not affect alignment; the closed-loop drive electronics do.

Position retention through power loss

Programmed limits and stored presets are retained for the product's lifetime through power loss. The shade returns to the same hembar position after the power cuts back in. No re-programming.

Quick Answer

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades integrate natively with Lutron HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 via the QS wired protocol, and reach Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home through Lutron bridges, per the Lutron product configurator accessed 2026-05-21. Caseta compatibility for the recessed Sivoia QS configurations is not publicly confirmed and is verified at specification.

Best For

Whole-home Lutron projects where the recessed shading must sit on the same control bus as the lighting and the drapery, with voice access through the household's existing ecosystem.

Native to HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3

Sivoia QS Roller 64, Roller 100, and Roller 225 connect natively to Lutron HomeWorks QSX (the flagship residential system) and RadioRA 3. No bridge. No dry-contact closure. No extra controller. Compatible Lutron processors also include HomeWorks QS, RadioRA 2, RA2 Select, Quantum, GRAFIK Eye QS, myRoom XC, and Athena Shade Automation Software.

Pico remotes, Sunnata, Palladiom, and Alisse keypads

The Pico remote that runs the evening scene also adjusts the recessed shades. The keypad in the room schedule controls them. Custom engravings (Welcome, Open House, Dinner Party, Cinema, Quiet Morning, Sundown, Goodnight, Garden) name the scenes the household lives by.

Voice via HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home

Voice control reaches the recessed shades through the Lutron processor and the household's existing voice ecosystem. The phrase that already lowers the lights in the master bedroom also lowers the shades inside the ceiling pocket. Sonos integration is also supported.

Lutron's Hyperion Solar Adaptive shading on HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 reads four sun modes (Direct Sun, Reflected Sun, Bright Sky, Overcast) and moves the shade position through the day. Lutron documents up to 30 percent cooling savings in case-study commercial installations.

AV and BMS integration

For projects on Crestron, Control4, Savant, URC, ELAN, or a building-management system, Sivoia QS reaches those platforms via the Lutron LEAP API or contact closure.

Quick Answer

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades are hardwired on Class 2, 35 V DC Lutron QS bus, powered by the Lutron QSPS power supply family (plug-in, junction-box, or multi-drive panel), and require 1.3 ft (0.4 m) clearance to any permanent object below the lowered shade per Lutron installation documentation accessed 2026-05-21. The Lutron Eight-Year Limited Warranty covers materials and the electronic drive unit (100 percent parts for the first five years, pro-rated through year eight, no registration required), with the New Way Five-Year fabrication wrap layered on top.

Best For

Projects specifying recessed roller shading during M&E where the pocket geometry, the blocking, the wiring path, and the closure detail are detailed at construction-document stage, before the ceiling closes.

Wiring class and voltage

Sivoia QS uses Class 2, 35 V DC low-voltage wiring on a 4-conductor cable per UL 1310 and the Lutron QSPS data sheet. Maximum daisy-chain length is 1000 ft. Wire runs over 50 ft require Link Terminators.

Power supply options

Power is delivered by the Lutron QSPS family: QSPS-P1, P2, P3 plug-in supplies for one to three drives, QSPS-J junction-box supplies for in-wall hardwire, and QSPS panel models (10-drive and 30-drive) for multi-drive installations powering up to ten Sivoia QS shades plus keypads per panel.

Mounting and clearance

Recessed ceiling or window-head pocket mounting only. Minimum clearance to any permanent object below the lowered shade is 1.3 ft (0.4 m) per Lutron installation documentation. Service access is designed in at CD stage via a removable closure panel or accessible pocket bottom.

What pocket sizes and configurations are available for Lutron Concealed Roller Shades?

Quick Answer

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades ship in six recessed pocket configurations: single-shade pockets at 3.5, 4, 5, and 7 inches, plus dual-shade pockets at 5.5 by 7.5 in and 7 by 11 in, with each pocket sized to a specific Sivoia QS chassis (Roller 64, Roller 100, or Roller 225). Pocket selection happens at concept design, before the ceiling closes, per Lutron's product configurator accessed 2026-05-21.

Best For

Luxury residential and hospitality projects where the ceiling design must read as one continuous surface, and the recessed pocket is detailed at construction-document stage.

Single pockets at 3.5, 4, and 5 in for Roller 64 and Roller 100

The 3.5 in single pocket pairs with the Roller 64 chassis for tight ceiling sections in bedrooms and studies. The 4 in single (102 mm by 102 mm) is the most-specified pocket in Malaysian luxury residential and also pairs with Roller 64, carrying widths to 144 in (3658 mm). The 5 in single measures 4.75 in by 5 in (120 mm by 127 mm) and pairs with the Roller 100 chassis for the double-volume living room.

Single pocket at 7 in for Roller 225 atrium-scale

The 7 in single pocket measures 178 mm by 178 mm and pairs with the Sivoia QS Roller 225 chassis. R225 carries spans up to 190 in (4.83 m) wide and 225 square feet of fabric area, sized for atriums, double-height window walls, and monumental glazing.

Dual pockets at 5.5 by 7.5 in and 7 by 11 in

The recessed dual pocket carries two independent shades in one architectural slot, purpose-built for layering. The 5.5 by 7.5 in dual pocket pairs with the Roller 64 chassis. The 7 by 11 in dual pocket pairs with Roller 100. Both configurations are engineered for a sheer or solar screen layer plus a dim-out or blackout layer from the same head detail.

500+ designer fabric library across all configurations

The recessed pocket adds no fabric restriction beyond fabric roll diameter and pocket-size pairing. The full Lutron fabric library is available, spanning sheer, sunscreen, light-filtering, dim-out, and blackout collections. PVC-free options (Loop, Basketweave Eco2) ship for sustainability-led specifications.

Hardware finish

Aluminum chassis with powder-coated finishes per the Sivoia QS family. Indoor use only.

How big can a single Lutron Concealed Roller Shade go?

Quick Answer

A single Lutron Concealed Roller Shade scales from 64 square feet on the Roller 64 chassis (widths to 144 in with the WIDR carbon-fiber tube option) through 100 square feet on Roller 100 (single-panel widths from 24 to 176 in) and 225 square feet on Roller 225 (single-panel widths from 31.75 to 190 in), per Lutron's product configurator accessed 2026-05-21. The chassis selection follows the architectural pocket and the glazing span.

Best For

Architects detailing monumental glazing or coupled facades where a single recessed shade must serve a wall of glass without joints, and luxury residential projects where pocket-to-chassis fit is non-negotiable.

Roller 64, the bedroom and study chassis

Roller 64 covers windows up to 64 sq ft (5.9 sq m) with standard widths to 8 ft (2.44 m) and the WIDR option to 12 ft (3.66 m). Pocket pairings are 3.5 in single, 4 in single, and 5.5 by 7.5 in dual. The most-specified chassis for Malaysian luxury residential bedrooms and studies, and the quietest in the family.

Roller 100, the double-volume living-room chassis

Roller 100 covers up to 100 sq ft (9.3 sq m) per drive. Single-panel width range 24 in to 176 in (610 mm to 4.47 m), per [Lutron.com](http://Lutron.com) accessed 2026-05-20. Pocket pairings are 5 in single (4.75 in by 5 in) and 7 by 11 in dual. The typical specification for Malaysian double-volume living rooms and master bedrooms sits around 10 ft (3 m).

Roller 225, the atrium chassis

Roller 225 covers up to 225 sq ft (20.9 sq m). Single-panel width range 31.75 in to 190 in (806 mm to 4.83 m / 15.83 ft) per [Lutron.com](http://Lutron.com) accessed 2026-05-20. Spring assist for tall, narrow shades. Pocket pairing is 7 in single (178 mm by 178 mm). Selected for atriums, double-height window walls, and monumental glazing.

Shade speed and deflection control

Bottom-bar speed runs at 3.6 in/sec (91.4 mm/sec) across the Sivoia QS family, per Lutron's product configurator accessed 2026-05-21. WIDR carbon-fiber deflection tubes are auto-specified by the Lutron Quoting Tool when fabric span risks deflection.

How quiet is the Lutron Concealed Roller Shade motor inside the ceiling pocket?

How does Lutron’s Intelligent Hembar Alignment hold Concealed Roller Shades to 3 millimetres?

What smart-home systems work with Lutron Concealed Roller Shades?

Hyperion Solar Adaptive shading and Natural Light Optimization

Lutron's Hyperion Solar Adaptive shading on HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 reads four sun modes (Direct Sun, Reflected Sun, Bright Sky, Overcast) and moves the shade position through the day. Lutron documents up to 30 percent cooling savings in case-study commercial installations.

AV and BMS integration

For projects on Crestron, Control4, Savant, URC, ELAN, or a building-management system, Sivoia QS reaches those platforms via the Lutron LEAP API or contact closure.

Why Choose New Way Outdoor Blinds
Over Alternatives?

New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver superior performance across key metrics compared
to common outdoor shading alternatives. Here's how they compare in real-world applications.

New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Open Roller Shades

New Way Outdoor Blinds with guided side channels and weighted bottom rails provide 85% better wind and rain protection compared to open roller shades, eliminating fabric flapping and water ingress that plagues unguided systems on high-rise balconies above the 8th floor where wind speeds reach 40+ km/h.

New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Outdoor Curtains

New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver rated glare reduction (65% heat gain reduction with 5% mesh) and consistent tension for cleaner sightlines compared to outdoor curtains, which provide only 20-30% heat reduction and require frequent adjustment in wind. Engineered meshes maintain 90% of appearance after 5 years versus 50-60% for curtain fabrics.

New Way Outdoor Blinds vs. Fixed Awnings

New Way Outdoor Blinds add vertical guidance that provides lateral rain protection and on-demand privacy without permanent structural changes required for fixed awnings. Retractable operation allows full sunlight access during cooler months, while fixed awnings create permanent shade whether needed or not—reducing flexibility by 100%.

When Are New Way Outdoor Blinds the Right Choice?

New Way Outdoor Blinds excel in specific outdoor environments where weather protection, durability, and year-round usability matter most.

Year-Round Balcony Living Spaces

New Way Outdoor Blinds are perfect for transforming balconies into year-round outdoor rooms—creating dry, cool, private spaces suitable for morning coffee, evening reading, and weekend entertaining throughout all seasons. The weather-sealed design extends usable outdoor time by approximately 180 days per year in tropical climates with frequent afternoon rain.

Family Patios and Entertainment Areas

New Way Outdoor Blinds protect furniture, décor, and guests from sudden tropical showers and harsh midday sun, making birthdays, holiday gatherings, and weekend barbecues 90% more reliable by eliminating weather-related cancellations. The UV protection and temperature reduction create comfortable outdoor dining conditions even during 2-4pm peak heat hours.

High-Rise and Exposed Installations

New Way Outdoor Blinds deliver calm, low-rattle performance on windy high-floor balconies (8th story and above) where standard non-guided shades struggle—eliminating the constant fabric flapping and wind noise that makes unprotected high-rise outdoor spaces unusable 50% of the time when wind speeds exceed 30 km/h.

Coastal and Seaside Properties

New Way Outdoor Blinds are engineered for properties within 5km of the ocean where salt-air corrosion destroys standard outdoor products within 2-3 years. The 316 stainless steel hardware and corrosion-resistant aluminum frames maintain functionality and appearance 3x longer than budget alternatives, protecting your investment in harsh coastal environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pre-Sales

Recessed Lutron Sivoia QS Roller Shades and surface-mount Sivoia QS share the same chassis, the same drive electronics, and the same Lutron 8-year warranty; the difference is the architecture, not the shade. The recessed configuration hides the roller, brackets, and rolled fabric inside a ceiling pocket, but the pocket must be detailed before the drywall closes. Surface-mount works when the ceiling is finished, the brief is renovation rather than new build, or the homeowner wants the headrail visible as a design element. The decision is rarely about the shade itself, it is about project stage: concept design points to recessed, post-handover points to surface-mount. Per Lutron’s product configurator accessed 2026-05-21, both configurations carry the same fabric library and the same Intelligent Hembar Alignment tolerance of 3 millimetres.

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades offer two dual-pocket configurations purpose-built to layer a sheer or solar screen with a dim-out or blackout in one architectural slot: the 5.5 by 7.5 inch dual pocket on the Roller 64 chassis, and the 7 by 11 inch dual pocket on the Roller 100. The two shades operate independently from the same head detail, so the sheer drops by day to cut glare without losing the view, and the blackout drops at night for room darkening, without two separate visible pelmets. The dual configuration is most-specified in luxury master bedrooms and primary suites where the daytime view and the nighttime sleep environment are both non-negotiable. Pocket size and chassis pair are confirmed at submittal.

Specifications

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades ship in six pocket configurations across three Sivoia QS chassis. Single pockets at 3.5 inches and 4 inches (102 mm by 102 mm) pair with the Roller 64 chassis for spans up to 144 inches wide. The 5 inch single pocket (4.75 by 5 inches) pairs with Roller 100 for widths from 24 to 176 inches. The 7 inch single pocket (178 mm by 178 mm) pairs with Roller 225 for spans from 31.75 to 190 inches. Dual pockets at 5.5 by 7.5 inches on Roller 64 and 7 by 11 inches on Roller 100 carry two independent shades in one head detail. Pocket and chassis selection lock at concept design, per Lutron’s product configurator accessed 2026-05-21.

Performance

The Sivoia QS Roller 64 drive will not exceed 35 dBA at three feet per Lutron Specification Submittal 085705c (2023). Roller 100 holds below 38 dBA per Submittal 086106b (2017). Roller 225 also holds below 38 dBA. Inside a ceiling pocket the chassis sits closer to the room than a surface-mount headrail, but Lutron’s drive electronics are engineered for either installation pattern and pocket proximity does not raise the noise floor above the specified submittal values. The 35 dBA threshold sits at the level of a quiet library. A bedside reader will not hear it. A guestroom sleeper will not be roused. Soft start and soft stop are standard on every Sivoia QS drive.

Smart Integration

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades connect natively to Lutron HomeWorks QSX, HomeWorks QS, RadioRA 3, RadioRA 2, RA2 Select, Quantum, GRAFIK Eye QS, myRoom XC, and Athena Shade Automation Software through the Sivoia QS wired protocol. A processor already specified into the project carries the recessed shades as another zone on the same Class 2, 35 V QS bus without a third-party bridge. The Pico remote, the seeTouch QS keypad, the Sunnata and Palladiom keypads, and the Lutron app reach the shades the same way they reach the lighting and the drapery. Voice control via Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home arrives through Lutron bridges. Caseta compatibility on the recessed Sivoia QS configurations is not publicly confirmed and is verified via the current Lutron dealer design tool at specification.

Installation

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades are difficult to retrofit into a finished ceiling without destructive demolition because the pocket geometry, the Class 2 35 V wiring path, and the closure detail must be coordinated with the drywall section before it closes. For a project past M&E, the better Lutron answer is usually surface-mount Sivoia QS, which carries the same chassis, the same drive, and the same fabric library, but does not require a recessed ceiling slot. The exceptions are renovations where a section of ceiling is already being rebuilt, or homes where the original cove or soffit detail can accommodate the pocket without major demolition. The atelier walks every project through the retrofit assessment at the first conversation, before any quotation.

Warranty

Lutron Concealed Roller Shades carry the Lutron Eight-Year Limited Warranty on materials and the electronic drive unit, with 100 percent parts coverage for the first five years and pro-rated coverage through year eight, no registration required, per the Lutron Window Systems Warranty document (2025). New Way layers a five-year fabrication wrap on the fabric, the chassis, and the drive housing on top. During a power outage, the hardwired Sivoia QS drive does not move because the line is mains-dependent with no battery backup on the drive unit; the programmed limits, the stored presets, and the named scenes are retained for the product’s lifetime through the power loss, so the shades resume normal operation when power returns and recall to the same positions, with no re-programming required.

Buying Journey

For Lutron Concealed Roller Shades, the first conversation that produces the best outcome includes everyone before the drywall closes. The New Way atelier sits with the architect, the interior designer, the AV integrator, and the M&E consultant together to walk through pocket sizing, chassis selection, fabric library, closure profile, wiring path, and keypad locations. Per the CSI 12 22 16 workflow, the fabric, the openness factor, and the integration scene are mocked up in the showroom before any shade is fabricated, and mass production starts only after sign-off. For projects already in M&E without a pre-construction briefing yet, WhatsApp the atelier or book a showroom visit. We work across Malaysia and Singapore, and the conversation is no-quote until the specification is right.
